Fashion and fitness often do not fall hand and hand, but Herbalife- a popular supplement, self-improvement, and sports brand- is set out to change that. Partnered up with the Fashion Institue of Design & Merchandising, Herbalife is challenging students to think outside of the box and to combine their brand with fashion to create a whole new brand of fitness-friendly clothing.
Established in 2004, Herbalife is a self-improvement focused supplement brand that gives you everything you need to look and feel great while being your best self. This state of mind will be encompassed into the clothing brand, created by students bu the FIDM.
The FIDM has hosted competitions like this one before. In the past, the school partnered up with other global brands for a similar contest; to incorporate the vision and culture of that brand into clothing. Herbalife is different, however, as this is the first business of its kind that the school has decided to work with.
Students are being challenged as teams to each create a line that they believe represents Herbalife. Each student will have their individual design judged, as well as their team’s creation as a whole. The students will not go into this blindly: they will start off the challenge by incorporating market research into their proposed lines. What do millennials want? What clothing items will sell? These things and more will be factored into the final product.
Herbalife is a global wide brand that has reach all over the world. With their new fitness clothing brand, this reach can be expanded and hopefully, more people will be able to join the Herbalife family.
Keep an eye out for the winning designs and the new Herbalife fitness clothing brand! You won’t want to miss your favorite brand as it is partnered with fashion.
